One show ends, another begins. A captivating entrance for this 2025 design week

Interior design and fashion design are interconnected; while one showcases its beauty with the prints, shapes, and colours in secrecy, the other moves gracefully around the city, sharing its ideas with the citizens. This season in interior design, we have seen three types of style from minimalistic pieces, to a baroque style and art nouveau (stile liberty). The three main words of the week were: innovation, sustainability and pleasure.

When it comes to design, being pleasurably suitable isn’t its only purpose; it is finding innovation throughout the years. Is the future going to be like we see it in movies? Using electronic devices to see things in real time as if we were there? That’s what happened in the Indigo show. With the use of virtual reality headsets and our hands as controllers to move, we were able to see the artificial exhibition house.

Another main theme is sustainability, and Casa Cork is a suitable example of its use of cork to create stools, chairs, tables and other objects.

Last but not least is pleasure. A very remarkable design exhibit was Salvatori’s. Different shades and craftsmanship of marbles for bathrooms, not only by looking but even with the use of the tactile sense, you can perceive how luxurious everything is.
