Jeudi Échos began with an idea.
An idea born from a personal fascination with design and from a desire to share a particular way of seeing elegance, not simply as something we wear or how we conduct ourselves, but as something that begins within us: in what we read, what we think, what we create, what we surround ourselves with, and ultimately, in the way we choose to experience the world.
I wanted to create a space where this idea of elegance could exist beyond appearances. A place where visual language, essays, concepts, art, literature, philosophy, architecture, and design could meet. What began as a passion for design gradually became something larger: Jeudi Échos, an evolving archive devoted to beauty, thought, culture, and the quiet details that make life more meaningful.
I am currently completing my Bachelor’s degree in Linguistic Sciences and Foreign Literatures at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, alongside my work and interests in design and visual communication. My experience at Triennale Milano further deepened my connection to the worlds of art, culture, design, and contemporary creativity.
My own practice moves between disciplines. I work as a web designer and graphic designer, while maintaining a particular fascination with interior design and the relationship between spaces, artefacts, and the people who inhabit them. Beyond design, I am deeply drawn to art, literature, philosophy, and classical music. To me, these are not separate interests; they are different ways of cultivating the mind. I believe almost anything can become beautiful when approached with attention.
Language and culture have always been central to the way I understand the world. I speak French, Italian, English, Ewe, German, and Chinese, and I see this multiplicity not simply as a linguistic ability, but as a way of moving between different perspectives, histories, and ways of seeing.
As an African, I also wanted to create something that speaks to my own people. Through Jeudi Échos, and particularly through éicìéi, I hope to share and rediscover the many forms of elegance that exist within African cultures, our languages, literature, craftsmanship, architecture, traditions, knowledge, and ways of life.
Not as nostalgia. Not as imitation. But as recognition.
A reminder that elegance has always existed in our heritage, and that it can be cultivated, renewed, and carried forward.
Jeudi Échos is, ultimately, an extension of the way I see the world: a belief that knowledge enriches life, and that a cultivated mind can find something worth appreciating almost everywhere.
